Vancouver Island, BC — Vancouver Island–based electronic artist Avro returns with Psychopathé, a brooding and confrontational new album arriving January 16, 2026 on Warranty:Void Records. Blending synth pop, dark wave, and post-punk, the release marks Avro’s second album and its most uncompromising statement to date.
Following the 2023 release Futureretroactivism, Avro became the solo project of musician and producer Adam Percy, a shift that has pushed the project into darker, more cinematic territory. Psychopathé explores obsession, identity, and the corrosive nature of celebrity culture — examining fame not as aspiration, but as a pathology.
The album opens with “Commencement,” a tense instrumental piece that pulses with cinematic unease, setting the tone for what follows. Across six tracks, Avro dissects celebrity from multiple angles: the armchair paranoia of “Insomaniac,” the neon-soaked detachment of “Blue Light, Hot Dreams,” the title track’s cold introspection, the hollow idealism of “Perfect World,” and the emotional duplicity explored in “Liars in Love.”
While Avro’s earlier work leaned more heavily into retro-futurist aesthetics, Psychopathé is sharper and more claustrophobic—driven by starker synth lines, shadowy rhythms, and emotionally restrained vocals that heighten its sense of unease. The result is an album that is both intimate and confrontational, dancing uncomfortably close to obsession and spectacle.
In addition to the new album, Avro has recently delivered official remixes for Bif Naked, Quick Kick, Suffer Fools, and Nakatomi Freefall, further cementing the project’s place within the orbit of modern electronic and alternative music.
